Sunday Funday: The Audacity of Tulips

I had a specific plan for these tulip bulbs. They were meant to come up in groups of three, and I’d chosen their palettes with care. I expected them to arrive with their textures and colors in the manner I’d designed for them.

Then they all came up at once. WTF?

It’s the weird weather, no doubt. This tulips situation feels to me like an attempt at conducting music without knowing how to play an instrument. I have very little wisdom about plants.

Yeah, you know where I’m going. Kids are like that.

They are going to be who they are going to be.

I can’t demand these tulips go back into the ground and wait their turn!

Just because I planted them, these flowers don’t owe me their blooms.

These flowers owe me nothing.

Kids are like that.
