Saturday's Douchebag You Should Know About: Chaya Raichik
However, if I’m going to the trouble of sharing with you the people who most trouble me, I would be remiss to not mention her. She’s so horrible it scares me, and I must be operating with some superstitious idea that if I pretend she doesn’t exist, she’ll go away.
I first read about her in relation to Nex Benedict’s death. It was there I learned about Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters. This really is a two-for-one “Saturday Douchbag,” you’re welcome, I’m sorry. Ryan Walters created a hostile environment for LGBTQ+ students in the schools, imposing a rule that students use bathroom facilities that align with their biological sex, which is why Nex Benedict was in a “girls” bathroom in the first place, where he/they got the head wounds which ultimately resulted in his/their death.
Chaya Raichik, whom Walters appointed to a state committee, is said by the Southern Poverty Law Center to have “revealed that her anti-trans ideology is motivated at least in part by nativism, casting transgender identity as a foreign threat to American identity and the spread of trans-affirming information as a foreign strategy to undermine the United States.”
Raichick’s disinformation campaign is, like, on steroids.

Man, this has been a rough week.
Truthfully, the liars and the fuckers get me down.
But before you get too depressed, watch Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz interview Raichick at an outdoor cafe in Los Angeles.
Raichick is straight-up evil. But Lorenz does not back down.
